22 Weeks!

Size of Baby: She is 11 inches long and almost a pound!!
Total Weight Gain: I am thinking around 8-9 pounds. I can't exactly remember what I weighed the last time I went to the doctor, so it is hard to tell!
Maternity Clothes: My Mom and I just went shopping for some new maternity clothes! I got some dresses, and some super comfy white leggings to wear with long, flowy shirts! I am much more comfortable in my maternity shirts!
Gender: Still a girl!
Movement: She is moving more now, still mostly in the morning and at night, but I do feel her moving during the day now as well!
What I Miss: Still sleeping all the way through the night, other than that, not much!
Cravings: I can't think of anything in particular, although my husband's parents did go to the Strawberry Festival in Pasadena this past weekend and they got some of the best strawberries I have EVER had! They gave us some, and I wish I had a million of them!
Best Moment This Week: My birthday was this past Monday, and my students threw me a surprise baby shower on my birthday!!! It was so cute!! They had cupcakes and balloons, and I got all sots of baby gifts. I seriously have the best parents. They are SO sweet. I also got to go to dinner with my family on Friday since my husband's birthday was Wednesday and mine was Monday.
What I'm Looking Forward to: Finishing up the baby registry, and school being out in 7 DAYS!! I am SO excited!!! I can't wait for summer!!!

21 Weeks

I can't believe I am over halfway done with my pregnancy! Time has gone by so fast!! I can't wait to meet Miss Savannah, but at the same time I still have so much left to do to get ready for her arrival!!

How Far Along: 21 Weeks

Size of Baby: She is now 10.5 inches long, about the length of a carrot! And she weighs between 13 and 14 ounces, almost a pound!!

Total Weight Gain: I am now up to 5 or 6 pounds of weight gain! My tummy as really grown in the past week, so I am thinking the weight is going to start adding up quickly!

Maternity Clothes: I am still wearing maternity pants and loose fitting shirts, although it is definitely time for me to get some more maternity clothes! My tummy is getting too big for my normal shirts.

Gender: Sweet little GIRL!!! We found that out at our gender reveal party last weekend! This was a surprise, because my husband's sister was the first girl on his side of the family in about 100 years!

Movement: She is moving still mostly at night and in the morning when I am relaxing. I can now feel her move with my hand, and so can my husband! We can also see my belly move if she kicks hard enough!

What I Miss: I would still say I miss sleeping through the night. She has started to kick me during the middle of the night so that usually wakes me up.

Cravings: This week my strange craving was Puppy Chow (the chex mix chocolate and peanut butter dessert) I found some at a gas station, and I bought two bags of it! I already ate one! I probably shouldn't buy those anymore!!

Best Moment This Week: There were several, first of all finding out she is a GIRL! Second would be being able to feel her move with my hand, and being able to see her move!

What I'm Looking Forward to: Getting to do the baby registry now that we know what we are having! It will be fun to shop for little girl things!

Gender and Name Reveal!!

This weekend we had our "Gender Reveal" party to find out our baby's gender! We had the ultrasound last Monday. The ultrasound tech put the answer in a sealed envelope that my Mom took to a cake baker. They made the cake pink or blue on the inside, depending on what the baby was.

Here is the cake! Half pink, half blue. It turned out so cute!

We had everyone wear pink or blue to the party depending on what they thought the baby was.  My husband's sister was the first girl on his side of the family in 112 years, so not surprisingly, most of his family wore blue!

The blue team!! My parents cheated and they originally wore blue to the party, but they both brought pink shirts too, ready to change if they were wrong. So look for them in both team pictures. My Dad is the man on the bottom left, and my Mom is not the woman right above him, but the one right above her.

The pink team! Notice my Dad in the same spot, and my Mom right above me! Haha!

At 6:00 it was time to cut the cake!! Both my husband and I wore pink. We counted down from 5 and....!

The cake was PINK! We are having a little GIRL! We are very excited. Although my husband wanted a boy, you can just see in his face how excited he is in the picture! So sweet.

Now for the fun part, we have decided to name this little lady....

Savannah Kay Evans

I have always loved the name Savannah for a girl, and to my surprise when I mentioned it to Brian he really liked it too! My middle name is Kay and so is my Mom's, so I really wanted to pass that down to our first daughter. I think her name has a sweet Southern sound to it, and we definitely want to raise a little girl with some Southern charm! We had a blast at our party, and I recommend this idea to anyone who is thinking of finding out the gender of their baby before delivery. It was so exciting to find out this way!

20 Weeks Pregnant!

20 Weeks

I know it has been awhile since I posted, but alot has happened since my last post! My husband and I are expecting our first baby on September 21st! We are so excited, and I have had a wonderful pregnancy so far. We just had our 20 week ultrasound and it was so much fun to see our little one. We are finding out the gender on Saturday at our gender reveal party! The ultrasound technician sealed the answer in an envelope and we took it to a cake bakery to make a pink or a blue cake! When we cut the cake on Saturday we will find out!

How Far Along20 Weeks

Size of baby: Our little one is around 10.5 ounces and about 10 inches long from head to toe! So much bigger than when we last saw the baby at 11 weeks!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: So far I have gained 4 pounds, which isn't much, but my tummy is definitely showing! It just isn't showing up on the scale yet. I have no doubt it will catch up with me pretty quickly!

Maternity Clothes: I am wearing maternity pants, but not maternity shirts. The shirts are still too big, so I have just been wearing loose fitting/flowy tops. But I sure do love maternity pants!!

Gender: We find out on Saturday!! It is torture to have to wait 4 more days!!

Movement: I mostly feel movement in the morning and at night. I don't feel it as much during the day because I am busy teaching 4th graders! I love the movement now because it is nice and gentle!

What I miss: I used to enjoy drinking a glass of white wine some nights, so I do miss that with pregnancy. I also miss sleeping through the night without waking up once! I used to be such a heavy sleeper, but now I wake up a few times a night and just toss and turn!

Cravings: At the beginning I at tons of pickles, but I haven't been eating those as much lately. I eat alot of fruit and I love anything sour, like salt and vinegar chips, sour patch kids, etc.

Symptoms: I have been so lucky to not have any sickness the whole pregnancy! I do have some back pain in my lower back, but it is usually just when I bend or move a certain way,

Best Moment this week: Definitely the ultrasound! It was so much fun, and my husband, my mom and his mom were able to come. I loved being able to share the experience with them. I couldn't believe how clear all of the images were. They zoomed in on the baby's heart and it looked so clear, but they said it is only about the size of a fingernail right now!! Crazy!

What I'm looking forward to: Finding out whether we are having a little boy or a little girl on Saturday!!!
